About Us

Potting Mad began with a simple idea: to create something fun, useful and able to give back.

It all started when we painted some quirky little pots, added fresh cat grass and donated them to an auction supporting Best Friends Felines. That small project sparked a love of growing our own pet grass, and before long Potting Mad had grown into something much bigger.

Today, we're a small Queensland family business based in Joyner, proudly run by wife-and-husband team Sharni and Scott.

Sharni has a passion for growing healthy, natural products for pets. She lovingly grows our range of Fresh Pet Super Greens, established Catnip and Cat Mint plants, along with our DIY growing kits and other plant-based products, ensuring every pot is healthy, fresh and ready for its new home.

Scott enjoys designing and building handcrafted timber products from reclaimed pallet timber. Every bird feeder and wildlife nest box is individually handmade, giving new life to recycled materials while creating safe, practical homes and feeding stations for Australia's incredible native wildlife.

Our love of animals extends well beyond our business. Sharni volunteers with Pine Rivers Koala Care (PRKC), where she's training as a wildlife rescuer, assists with wildlife rescue call-outs and helps answer the organisation's wildlife assistance phone line each week. Scott is also a proud member of PRKC and enjoys helping wherever he can, from bush care and habitat restoration to supporting community events and wildlife conservation projects.

Everything we grow, build or create is done with care, quality and sustainability in mind. Whether it's helping your pets enjoy fresh natural greens, encouraging people to grow their own plants at home, or providing safe homes and feeding stations for native birds and wildlife, our goal is to make a positive difference - one product at a time.

Giving back has always been at the heart of Potting Mad, and supporting Australian wildlife and animal welfare continues to inspire everything we do.

Thank you for supporting our small local Queensland family business. Every purchase helps us continue doing what we love - caring for pets, protecting wildlife, and sharing our passion for gardening, sustainability and the natural world.

Cheers
Sharni & Scott
