The Natural Way to Keep Your Cat Happy & Entertained

Treat your feline friend to their very own healthy, established Catnip plant, grown with care right here in Queensland.

Our Catnip plants are available in two generous pot sizes, packed with fresh growth and ready for your cat to enjoy:

🌿 White 18cm Pot – $12
🌿 Black 20cm Pot – $15

Unlike tiny seedlings or small nursery pots sold elsewhere, our Catnip plants are healthy, well-established plants with plenty of fresh foliage.

Catnip (Nepeta cataria) belongs to the mint family and contains a naturally occurring compound called nepetalactone. When cats smell or rub against the leaves, many experience a short burst of playful excitement, affection or relaxation. Every cat is different, and not all cats respond—but for those that do, it's a fantastic source of natural enrichment.

💚 Safe for normal use: Most cats interact with catnip by sniffing, rubbing or rolling in the leaves rather than eating large amounts. We recommend supervised play and moderation, just as you would with any natural plant or pet treat.

🌱 Catnip vs Cat Grass

Although they're often confused, Catnip and Cat Grass are completely different plants.

🌿 Catnip

✔ Encourages play and enrichment

✔ Many cats love to sniff, rub and roll in it

✔ Can encourage exercise and interaction

✔ A member of the mint family

🌾 Cat Grass

✔ Safe for chewing

✔ Helps satisfy a cat's natural urge to eat grass

✔ A completely different plant

✔ Does not have the playful effects of Catnip

Many cat owners enjoy having both available—Cat Grass for chewing and Catnip for fun and enrichment.

😺 Why Cats Love Catnip

Many cats enjoy:

🐾 Rolling in the leaves

🐾 Rubbing their face against the plant

🐾 Sniffing and exploring

🐾 Playful zoomies

🐾 Mental stimulation

🐾 Natural environmental enrichment

The effects usually last only a few minutes before wearing off naturally. Around 50–70% of adult cats respond to catnip, while some cats may show little or no interest—this is completely normal and largely genetic.
